Life has been crazy as of late. One thing I am happy to share is that Lorelay and I have been hard at work on a show that opens TONIGHT at Gallery Nucleus! Here is some more info on the show:

LEGENDARY BEAUTIES

Nucleus is thrilled to present an exciting duo exhibition featuring two of our favorite artists. Lorelay BovĂ© andBrittney Lee, both talented designers at Walt Disney Animation, have come together to create a beautiful collection of works that pay homage to some of the most memorable women in history.

OPENING RECEPTION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Artists in attendance
  • Free Admission
  • Hourly Raffle Prizes
  • Complementary refreshments

The show will open tonight and runs through December 2nd.

Here we are hard at work on a collaboration piece!

There will also be an Art of Wreck-It Ralph panel and book signing happening right before our show opens that will feature an awesome group of artists including Mike Gabriel, Ian Gooding, Bill Schwab, Ryan Lang, and Vicky Ying. It should be an amazing night! You can find more info on the panel and book signing right here

If you find yourself in the Los Angeles area tonight, we would love to see you there!

Comic Con!

It is that time of year again! Today marks the beginning of San Diego Comic Con, and I am very happy to say that I will be there in the same place as last year (Small Press Table O-15) with lots of prints, Confetti books, a few originals, and more on hand. The image above is one of the new prints I will have with me, and it is even embellished with gold ink!

I will also be helping with portfolio reviews for Walt Disney Animation Studios on Friday from 12-2:30pm, so have those portfolios ready! Also,  I will be doing a special signing with Gallery Nucleus (where we may even have a new, Nucleus exclusive print) at their booth on Saturday from 12-1pm.

If you want to have the most up-to-date info from me on what is happening at the convention, follow me (@britsketch) on Twitter and Instagram!

It is going to be a crazy, fun, exciting week! If you happen to be in San Diego, I hope to see you there!

One Night, Two Shows!

I'm so thrilled to be able to share a couple of new pieces! If you happen to be in the Los Angeles area this weekend, there are two great shows happening tonight that I am so very lucky to be a part of.

The first show is Fractured Fairytales at the Wonderful World of Animation Gallery in Culver City! I decided to do Snow White:

Some other contributing artists include Drake Brodahl, Lorelay Bove, Annette Marnat, Becky Dreistadt, Genevieve Godbout, Israel Sanchez, Joey Chou, Megan Brain, and many more! The show opens tonight and runs until August 11th.  It is going to be a fabulous!

The second show is All Together Now: A Tribute to the Beatles opening tonight at Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra! The contributing artists were all asked to create pieces based on the Fab Four or one of their many songs. I chose to do a piece based on "Blackbird" - one of my favorites.

Find out more about this show (including all of the contributing artists and opening night fun) right here.

Also, I will be at San Diego Comic Con next week! I will be in the same spot I was last year - Small Press Table O-15.  I'm working on some fun things for the show right now, so expect another post to come soon!

Wondercon 2012!

She's alive!

I am really sorry that it has been so long between posts. 2012 is shaping up to be a huge year, and so far I have had very little time to come up for air. There are lots of big projects (both professional and personal) on the horizon, and I can't wait to share them all with you! While I can't promise weekly posts, I will certainly try to get artwork up more regularly.

This little piece is something that I will have with me at Wondercon this weekend! I had such a great time working on this tribute piece that I thought it would be fun to do another in the same vein to celebrate Wondercon's temporary move to Anaheim. If anyone is coming to the show, you can find me at Small Press table 108. I'm really looking forward to a fun weekend, so please stop and say hello!
